Hi, Md! While our exams are open to anyone who would like to take them, for CySA+, we recommend having 3-4 years of hands-on cybersecurity experience in order to have the knowledge to pass. Download the exam objectives and sample questions and see if you're ready for CySA+ or if you might be better taking another certification, such as Security+. Good luck! https://certification.comptia.org/certifications/cybersecurity-analyst#examdetails

I am a career changer. I have a bachelors in Bussiness Administration and and MBA. I am currently enrolled in an undergrad certificate program in cybesecurity and will be taking the Security+ and Network+ certification exams. Will this be enough to start a career in cyber security or will I need to do a second bachelors?

  • Monday, April 23, 2018

Hi, Mike! Thanks for your comment. It sounds like you are well on your way to a cybersecurity career. In IT, experience and certifications can play as much, if not more of, a role than advanced degrees. That said, it will vary from employer to employer, and you'll need a combination of credentials, a strong cover letter and resume, and a solid interview to land the job. Remember that a career is a journey, so you may start in a role like cybersecurity specialist or junior analyst, but over time, you'll gain the experience you need to work your way up. Good luck!
