You can earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs) toward your CompTIA certification renewal by writing and publishing documents, articles or books. 

Receive CEUs for these activities:

• Publish an article or white paper
• Publish a blog
• Publish a book

How Many CEUs You Can Earn

How to Earn and Receive Your CEUs

Publish an Article or White Paper

You can earn 4 CEUs for each article or white paper of at least four pages in length. Follow these requirements to earn and receive CEUs.

• Timing: Your article or white paper must be written and published during your three-year renewal cycle.
• Relevance: At least 50 percent of the article or white paper content must relate to one or more of the exam objectives for the certification you’re renewing.
• Documentation: Submit the following documentation to receive CEUs for creating an article or white paper:
  1. URL or copy of the published work with your name and the date published
  2. Description of the content covered

Publish a Blog Post

You can earn 1 CEU for each blog post of at least 500 words. Follow these requirements to earn and receive CEUs.

• Timing: Your blog post must be written and published during your three-year renewal cycle.
• Relevance:At least 50 percent of the blog post content must relate to one or more of the exam objectives for the certification you’re renewing.
• Documentation: Submit the following documentation to receive CEUs for the blog post:
  1. URL or copy of the published work with your name and the date published.
  2. Description of the content covered.

Publish a Book

If you write a published book, you will receive the number of CEUs listed in the table above. Follow these requirements to earn and receive CEUs.

• Timing: Your book must be written and published during your three-year renewal cycle.
• Relevance: At least 50 percent of the book content must relate to one or more of the exam objectives for the certification you’re renewing.
• Documentation: Submit a link to the website where your book is featured or can be purchased.
